Norcia is quite attentive on this topic and, despite the figure of Norcino as an expert in pork butchering, the territory offers many alternative products, such as lentils, legumes and cereals and, in general throughout Umbria, strangozzi are widespread.
Inside the vegetarian Christmas package you will find the lentil of Castelluccio di Norcia, certified by the IGP mark, a product known throughout Italy, spelled, chickpeas and peasant soup, made by the farm located near Norcia, in Monteleone di Spoleto, the “highest” municipality in Umbria, where the harsh climate favors agricultural development as it once was.
